RECRUITMENT OF SPECIALIST CADRE OFFICERS IN STATE BANK GROUP

State Bank of India invites on-line applications from Indian citizens for appointment in following Specialist Cadre Officers posts in State Bank Group.

Note :

SELECTION PROCEDURE :

The selection of candidates will be on the basis of test and interview. The test will be conducted tentatively 0n 17th October 2014. (In case the number of applicants are less, Bank reserves the right to complete the selection through shortlisting and interview instead of through test and interview).The date of test will be uploaded on Bank’s website and also advised to the candidates through SMS and e mails. Candidates will be required to download the call letters. The test may be held at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna & Trivandrum centres. The Bank, however,  reserves the right to add or delete any centre and allot the candidate to any centre other than the one he/she has opted for.

For Economist :

OBJECTIVE TEST: ONLINE
  1. Test of Reasoning 50 questions - 50 marks
  2. Quantitative Aptitude 35 questions - 35 marks
  3. English Language 35 questions - 35 marks
  4. Professional Knowledge 50 questions - 100 marks
Note : Tests other than Professional knowledge (PK) test are qualifying in nature and marks thereon will not be reckoned for arriving at merit list.

DESCRIPTIVE TEST : ONLINE

(candidates will be required to answer by typing on computer)
English Language Test :
  1. Essay on subject related to Economics : 1 question - 50 marks

for RISK ANALYST & COMPANY SECRETARY

The test will be online objective test and the test pattern will be same as in the case of Economist. There will not be Descriptive Test for these post.

The selection will be through shortlisting and interview.

RECRUITMENT OF PROBATIONARY OFFICERS IN ASSOCIATE BANKS OF STATE BANK OF INDIA

JOB DESCRIPTION

Applications are invited from eligible Indian Citizens for appointment as Probationary Officers (POs) in Associate Banks of State Bank of India. Candidates selected are liable to be posted anywhere in India.

ELGIBLITY CRITERIA : (AS ON 01.09.2014)

Essential Academic Qualifications :

Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government. Candidate having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before the eligiblity date. 
Note : 
The date of passing eligibility examination will be the date appearing on the mark sheet or provisional certificate issued by the University / Institute. In case the result of a particular examination is posted on the website of the University / Institute then a certificate issued by the appropriate authority of the University / Institute indicating the date on which the result was posted on the website will be taken as the date of passing.

Age Limit : (As on 01.09.2014)

Not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.09.2014 i.e candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.09.1984 and not later than 01.09.1993 (both days inclusive).
Age relaxation is available as per government norms.

SELECTION PROCEDURE :

Phase-I : 
Examination consisting Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. The Objective Test will be online. Immediately after the online Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered. Questions relating to Descriptive Test will be available on computer (Online) and candidates will have to write the answers on the answer sheet (Offline) provided to them on Paper/Pen mode.

(i) Objective Test : 
The Objective Test with 2hours duration consists of 4 Sections with 50 marks each (Total 200 marks) as follows:
  1. Test of English Language (Grammer, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc.)
  2. Test of General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
  3. Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation
  4. Test of Reasoning (High Level)
The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing
marks, to be decided by the Bank.

(ii) Descriptive Test : 
The Descriptive Test with 1 hour duration (50marks) will be of “Test of English Language (comprehension, short précis, letter writing & essay)”. The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank. Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are Placed adequately high as per total marks in objective test.

Phase-II : Group Discussion (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)
The aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both the Objective Tests and Descriptive Test will be arranged in descending order in each category. Adequate number of candidates in each category, as decided by the Bank will be called for Group Discussion and Interview. The qualifying marks in Group Discussion & Interview will be as decided by the Bank.
Candidates qualified for GD & Interview under 'OBC' category are required to submit OBC certificate containing the 'Non Creamy layer' clause. Candidates not submitting the OBC certificate containing the 'Non Creamy layer' clause and requesting to be interviewed under General category will not be entertained.

Final Selection :
The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-I and Phase-II separately.
Marks secured by the candidates in the Written Test (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Discussion & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Written Test and Group Discussion & Interview out of 100 for each category.
The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.
Results of the candidates who have qualified for Phase II and the list of candidates finally selected will be made available on the Bank’s website. Final select list will be published in Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar.

Application Fee :

Rs. 100/- for SC/ST/PWD
Rs. 500/- for all others

HOW TO APPLY :

Candidates will be required to register themselves online first through Bank’s website www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in. After which candidates are required to pay the requisite application fee through one of the following modes:

(i) Offline mode : 
The system will generate a cash voucher/ challan form pre-printed with the candidate’s details which will be required to be presented at any State Bank of India branch counter with the requisite fee. On payment of the requisite fee through computer generated challan form, registration of the online application will be complete.

(ii) Online mode : 
The payment can be made by using debit card/ credit card/Internet Banking.
